Finally used the little sausage cutters I bought from Tokyo. They came in a set of three intended to aid moms in their bento preparation. I <3 bentos! Looking at all these bento boxes is serious food porn. I wish I had the dedication to make some for myself, but all I can manage is the occasional lunch at home… not that it stops me from collecting bento making equipment.
Anyway these cutters are a quick fix for people too lazy to hand-cut their hotdogs. (That sounds kind of absurd but elaborate bentos are kind of absurd. Hours of effort for 10 min of eating.) People like moi.
Aren’t these krabs super cute? Too bad I haven’t found the right size of wieners for the penguin and fish cutters…
I followed this simple recipe (but with instant ramen instead of rice) in an attempt to use the gochujang (Korean chili paste) that I brought back from Korea.
OMG it was so yummy! I used the only vegetables I had handy in the fridge, a handful of snow peas and enoki mushrooms, but it was really satisfying anyway. A little spicier than I remember it, but the taste is pretty close.
Yay for easy meals! Now using up the whole tub of paste seems much more achievable.
Feeling in the need of that pick-me-up.
